BSOD whilst playing any (demanding) game

    Hi all,

I've recently switched over from my old HDD to a shiny new SSD. It was a fresh windows install and I've installed all drivers for my gpu, mobo etc. fresh onto this. It seems now though that whenever I play a game I get a BSOD. I've had this happen so far whilst playing Skyrim, EVE online and Company of Heroes, and I haven't really loaded up any other games because there's not much fun if they're going to crash 10 mins in! The crashes occur anywhere between after 10 mins of play and after 1hr. I thought it was a temperature issue as Skyrim used to crash before I got the SSD, but seemed to work fine if I put my fan speeds up to ~90% in MSI Afterburner. After 10 mins of EVE online with the fan speeds set to 90% I got a crash the other day though. I've also tried uninstalling and re-installing my graphics drivers and still got a crash :/ I've also updated my BIOS and that hasn't fixed the problem, so I thought I'd post here and see if someone else can help me get to the bottom of this!

    System specs are:
    Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3-B3 Mobo
    Intel i5 2500K - Not overclocked
Nvidia GTX480 - Also not overclocked
    12GB RAM
    OCZ Agility 3 64GB SSD
    780W PSU

    Hello James.

Scan the system for possible virus infection.
    Code:
    fffff880`0ae06bb8 fffff880`010149fa ataport!IdePortPdoDispatch+0xb6

Roll back to an earlier stable version of the display driver.

    update the network driver.
First, download the network card driver from manufactuer's website, Realtek and Realtek respectively.
    Then reinstall the driver:

    1. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
    2. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
    3. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
    4. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
    5. Restart the computer
    6. If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

So far I've updated the wireless and Realtek drivers from whichever the newest driver on the website was and have run the TDSS Killer, which found no problems. I've also uninstalled the driver I had for my GTX480, and windows installed driver 306.97 itself so I've left that on and ignored it trying to update.
Whilst playing Planetside 2 today I put my fans up to 100% and got a few hours of gameplay before the game itself crashed - no bsod though.

I did however just get a BSOD without having a game in the foreground. Open programs were Google Chrome (2 tabs), Ventrilo and iTunes, with EVE open but minimized. Took a screenshot of Speccy as soon as my pc rebooted and will attach the dump file again. Going to start running Windows Defender now to search for viruses, will try to do a mem test tonight whilst I sleep also, just thought I'd keep you posted.

    Thanks,
    James
