Just started doing memtest on the sticks. I'm getting heaps of errors a few seconds into the test (both sticks plugged in). I tried doing one stick at a time and #1 stick had errors everywhere while stick #2 has 0 errors...

Very weird results because when I got these new sticks, I ran memtest right away and did 2 or 3 passes and ZERO errors on both sticks that time (4-5 months ago)... Would the power supply have killed one of the sticks? Also noteworthy that power was accidentally cut from the PC while it was on sleep mode a few weeks ago.... As the PSU is an old one that I got from our work's server, do you reckon I should replace the PSU? I did some voltage tests on the PSU and everything seems to be ok. Thanks for your help mate.

Well like all things in nature... everything is prone to die some day....will power cut could be one reason... but not always.

If you have money to burn .. go ahead buy a new PSU from reputed brand. the choice is yours.
