BSOD - no start

Earlier today my dad turned on our computer to a blue screen. It told him to restart the computer if he had never seen it before, and he did. However, we cannot get it to start back up. When we press the power button, the fan runs (harder than usual), but the monitor stays asleep. HELP.

There's not much help I would be able to provide not being able to see your dumps, make sure the VGA or whichever connectors you are using for your monitor are fully connected, and that the graphics card is seated properly, then try these steps:

You could also try placing a different graphics card in the computer and then check if you can see the screen.

The code on the bsod was

Your graphics card is most probably not seated properly or has failed completely from the information you have provided in your first post.

Open your case, there you can see the CPU fan, it must have gotten so dirty, unplug it and try to remove it. it maybe hard if it is your first time to do so. use your mind and unattache it carefully. then clean the heat sink and change the fan or just stick off the lable in the back, and there you can use oil to make the fan rotate faster. ( but it is better to change it)
