    Hi cipley,

that is pssible. I had not checked. It was the normal BSOD stating that data for the crash dump is collected.

Should I generate more crashes. This might work very effectively with Magix.

However, I am wondering whether and what hardware I should replace. CPU, RAM and Graphics card have been checked. Harddisks did not show any apparent errors. The only remarkable similarity between the situations leading to crashes is processing of data. Hence, I was wondering whether the mainboard is the reason for the crashes.

    hmm

Oberfrank.... reading through all your post ... i see you are consistently able to produce BSOD when using Avidemux or Magix.. both related to editing of video files ...

Now could you enable the driver verifier and start using Avidemux..or Magix ... and create the BSOD... do. this for at least 3 to 4 times... after that upload the dumps...

I will have look and advice.

    Hi centaur,

up to now I only got crashes with distorted screen and no BSOD/dumps. Magix is no longer working since one of the last crashes.

    Will continue tomorrow.

I get your point but the errors happened with and without the graphjics card. Magix and avidemux only changr a progress bar. I will give it a try anyway.

Well Oberfrank... The whole point is not just to test your graphics card but other subsystems as well.. you did say that there are no BSOD's but rather crashing of the PC while you have used.. programs that puts a stress on the display / graphic card.

    well let see..

Furmark levels out at 76° with 50% Fan and 16 FPS average. There are no distortions but a slight stuttering of the outside woll moving forward every second or so.

WIth the driver verifier I was not able to produce a Bluescreen but only hangs with distorted screen. Magix tends to be more reliable (but slow) with verifier on.
