Windows 7 Suddenly Loses Power

Problem from Event Viewer: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

My PC completely turns itselfe off when playing anything in full screen ( Like call of duty) It will run for a second or two then my computer just loses power. I got a 750w PSU so i don't see what the problem is. Does the details information above make any sence to anyone?

Nifty name

The logged event is a mere side-effect of the unexpected power-down, and it contains no useful info. It's simply saying "hey, the computer did not shut down cleanly the last time, so obviously something must have gone very wrong, just in case you didn't notice."

As to why the "off" thing happens, the key is to work out whether it's software or hardware. I'm going to guess that maximising Notepad or a browser window doesn't produce the same symptom - only more demanding games cause it to happen? If that's right, it may have something to do with your video driver. The most obvious place to start would be to make sure you're on updated video drivers.

Having the same problem. I thought it only happened when I use 3D Studio Max 2009 or when I run NERO, but now it happens more often and there is no consistency of application or hardware changes. Kaspersky AVG and Windows defender and Microsoft malicious Software Removal find a clean system.

I suspect the video driver so I am updating from nVidia now, but the shutdown is so fast, like a power loss, that it's hard to imagine that causing it.

I am able to run NERO Recode and 3DS Max, but I never know when this will occur again.
