    BSOD: BAD_POOL_HEADER 0x00000019

    I've got a Asus G75V running windows 7 that's barely 3 months old but I've been plagued with BSODs since about week 3. About 12 so far.

    The first half dozen were solved when I changed my modem/router, but now there seems to be a new issue. I've had 5 error code 19's and the seem to be getting worse. Half of these have happened when I switched the TV on (I have my laptop hooked up to the blu-ray player via HDMI cable). But it doesn't happen every time.

    I hope someone can help me.

    Hello Zebedeee.

    Both of your latest crashes show the same thing....
    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    BugCheck 19, {20, fffffa801a9214f0, fffffa801a921900, 4410010}

    Probably caused by : dxgmms1.sys ( dxgmms1!VIDMM_DMA_POOL::RemoveDmaBufferFromPool+ed )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------
    And nothing more. Though dxgmms1.sys is graphics related. In such a situation, you may opt for a rollback of the graphics driver, as the latest one is problematic.

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

    Uninstall AVG using AVG Remover. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
    Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

    Uninstall these bloatware, those are often problematic:

    • Start Menu\Programs\ASUS
    • Start Menu\Programs\ASUS\ASUS Splendid Utility
    • Start Menu\Programs\ASUS\ASUS WebStorage
    • Start Menu\Programs\ASUS\AsusVibe

    Update the following drivers:

    Roxio: Either Uninstall CinePlayer or update the version.

    Let us know the results.

    So far I've updated the video driver and uninstalled the ASUS bloatware. Then I lost power for 2 days so I haven't had time to do the rest or see if the video driver has made a difference yet.

    I'll update the rest of it this week. I'm curious about the freeing up of the start menu.
    Is everything in there unnecessary? I take it that if I remove them I'll have to start any I need manually?

    It is not start menu, but the startup folder.

    Yes, everything other than the antivirus is unnecessary there. As those are already installed, you can call them anytime from Start> all programs.
