The BSOD happened after I installed Asus.
Something else that was puzzling me, I have a paid for VPN, I upgraded to their new client which was slow and unreliable. I got a feeling this may be part or the actual cause of my BSOD. I've uninstalled the client and all seems well today, I've asked the VPN providers to look into it. The process of elimination is getting tedious to say the least

    Thanks.

If that doesn't seem to resolve the issue completely, then consider removing Asus again, using a free program such as CCleaner, this will help remove the remaining traces of the program from your system.

Select the Asus program, and then remove it, here's a screenshot of CCleaner to help you:

The Asus AI Suite is still installed.
I've got CCleaner thanks, I've been using it for around 3 years. It's attached to my recycle bin for a quick clear out of cookies etc......

No BSOD since I removed the VPN client!! I've switched to using Window 7 VPN service with a username & password. The machine seems to be running faster and quieter!!!
I've been on to them regarding the possibility of a bug in their client but after 2 days ended up with a 'have you tried switching it on' kind of reply!.

    Lets see what happens

    Thanks.

    Looking good!

No BSOD & all running smoothly. It's very frustating that my VPN provider might be the culprit but are not willing to do anything about it.

They probably only will be willing to do so, if you offer them a nice sum of money, and then they won't tell you exactly what the problem is!

Perhaps, although I've heard nothing back regarding the matter. I'll see what they say come subscription renewal time.

Yup, so here's the problem and the solution, just renew your subscription first
