After you have installed Service Pack 1, install any other additional Windows Updates:

Start > Type: Windows Update > Install/Check for Updates

Install all the Important and Optional Windows Updates, which contain many important security and stability improvements as previously pointed out by Northernsoul55 .

Have you updated your graphics driver yet?
I have updated my graphics driver without installing catalyst control center.

I am currently downloading windows update (SP1 included) but it's not moving from 0% .

I will leave it a while

The service pack upgrade is basically like downloading a hundred windows updates all at once so it will take quite some time.

Well for some reason I wasn't able to install SP1. I always got an error saying to run a program that checks if my comp. is ready for a software update. With no success I then downloaded the SP1 from Microsoft's website, made a clean boot, disconected the internet, unplugged all USB devices and finnaly the SP1 successfully installed. Unfortunately my system crashed then so I had to launch startup repair that restored my system.

I tried to install with clean boot from windows update but failed again. I always get an error code 800B0100

I never had any problems with this computer before

Run the SURT tool created by Microsoft, and post the .txt file (CheckSur.log) which is produced:

    Code:
     C:\Windows\Logs\CBS

Was there a file called CheckSUR.log also?

Scan for any missing, modified or corrupted protected Windows files with:

    Code:
    BugCheck 19, {3, fffffa80024496f0, fffffa80024496f0, ff00fa80024496f0}

    Probably caused by : fileinfo.sys ( fileinfo!FIStreamCreate+63 )
fileinfo.sys is a Windows FileInfo Filter Driver and is not the true cause for the crash.

You won't find any problems using System File Checker, since all the corrupted registry components have been successfully repaired, now the next thing which makes me wonder, is how the registry got corrupted to begin with?

Have you been using any registry cleaners? What AV suite do you have installed?

Try installing SP1 and all the other Windows Updates, and then follow these steps:

Install and perform full scans with:

Remember to install the free version of Malwarebytes not the free trail; untick the free trial box during installation. MSE is the most lightweight and compatible with the Windows 7 operating system.
