I am unable to download WDO. I tried to download the 64bit version on a 32bit system (since the BSOD windows is 64bit) and it just stopped after downloading some content, giving an error. I dont have any other x64 system with me, besides the download is very very slow.

Any other place where I can get the latest WDO iso for an x64 W7 !

    What is Windows Defender Offline?

    According to Carrona.org, STOP 0x0000007B: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
    Usual causes:
Hard drive, File system, Boot sequence errors, Device driver, Virus infection (in particular check the MBR)

Also, Do these: SeaTools for DOS | Seagate

And, try SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

If there is anything connected with the laptop, remove them all, and try these, one by one.

I tried sfc /scannow. It says some repairs are pending and I have to reboot before I can continue. It happens always.

As for the Lucid Puppy Gparted, it shows the entire hard drive as unallocated, but Lucid puppy itslelf can detect all the partitions.

ARC, will I ever be able to boot that PC.

Also what are your thoughts on the bootloader I screwed - can the windows 7 installation disk do anything. You haven't said anything about that.

I will try to do the thing you said. WDO is not working from MS website.

WDO can take quite a while to download. It downloads the program, but during installation has to download all the virus definitions which can take quite a while, especially if you have a slower internet connection.

I have provided two alternative links for WDO, try them. This is really very important in this situation. If it gets anything, our job will be half done.

Try with the Partition wizard bootable CD. If Puppy works, there is no bonafide reason for it not working .... you just follow the steps mentioned here: Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD..

If it shows the partition map properly, rebuild the MBR.

About the windows 7 installer disc, do you have one? If not, you can have one of your installed version from this link.
    Then follow it:
Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start

Or, run Startup Repair for three separate times, with restarts after every single run.
Startup Repair: Run three separate times.

If all fails, there will be no way other than a clean reinstall. And if you can manage a disc equal or larger than your existing disc; or if there is enough space to get all the data back within the existing HDD partitions, everything will be recovered. Nothing will be lost, until and unless the HDD is dead.

So, now dont worry, try for the WDO scan.

ARC it says WDO cannot be started, missing windows system drive. This is what I suspected, the partitioning is messed up.

I've downloaded a W7 64bit copy, Im trying to burn it using Puppy Linux.I hope its ble to do something.

As for Partition wizard, it gives an error with some tty login, so it simply goes into console.

I dont know what to do Arc.

ARC I think the first step for me would be to somehow fix my partition structure is there any toher tool that can do that - any ? Can there be an older version of Partition Wizard that might work.

Once that is done its off to WDO.

Run Dell Diagnostics from boot to test the hardware: Dell Diagnostics Utility - How to Run the

If problems with the HD, download the maker's HD Diagnostics DOS CD scan, burn to CD using Windows Image Burner, boot to run extended scan.

Next run a full Disk Check (Option 2) from Win7 installer System Recovery Options or Repair CD Command Line.

Alternative method: download free Partition Wizard bootable CD, burn to CD using Windows Image Burner, boot to run Partition Wizard Partition surface test, followed by Partition Wizard Check File System.

If HD passes both tests, work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start. The installer is provided in Step 5 to rescue your data via Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console or to use for repairs or if necessary reinstall.

The windows 7 64 bit copy I downloaded fails to locate a Windows partition. It simply says install - no repair options. If I go to install just to check for windows partition I see it can only locate the Dell recovery partition, the other two C:/D: are not visible.

Partition wizard recovery CD is not booting into GUI, it only goes into console mode, can there be any options in console mode to repair something i.e the partition structure, then maybe i can repair using the cd.

Anything I can do with System Rescue Cd ?

I am about to cry !
