BSOD and now I cannot pin items? :S

    Hi!

So I got a BSOD 0x0000001E, and the computer made a check disk and yeah.. some things have changed.

It seems like all my settings are locked now :S at least for this profile

I cannot uncheck: lock the taskbar.

I cannot pin programs to it.

    I cannot use small icons

The same goes for folder options :S

Anyone know a solution for this problem?

    Thanks on before hand!

Since you still have access to your computer, can you go to c:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file (*.dmp) and upload it to us using the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form

    thanks

Checked the folder and it was empty, I have show hidden files as well.

Is kernel memory dump enough or should I set it to small memory dump? if this happens again.

I came up with something to a solution, by creating another account.

And thanks for the quick reply! appreciate it :)

    F

kernel is fine it might not be in minidump (espec if you are 64bit) you can search *.dmp. it might be in c:\windows and be called memory.dmp.

there might not be one at all

I have some .dmp files under this path:

    C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG

Are they of interest, otherwise I didn't find any =/

Mine looks like yours although I have these crossed as well:
    automatically restart
    overwrite existing file

If I change any alternatives I get this warning:
    ---------------------------
    System Properties
    ---------------------------
Windows might not be able to record details that could help identify system errors because your current paging file is disabled or less than 400 megabytes. Click OK to return to the Virtual Memory settings window, enable the paging file, and set the size to a value over 400 megabytes, or click Cancel to change your memory dump selection.
    ---------------------------
    OK Cancel
    ---------------------------

That might be because I have no paging file on my system disk but I have it instead on a secondary disk.
