    BSOD Error 0x0000007E

    Hello,

    I am new to these forums and not the most tech savvy.

    I first started having BSOD errors in October. I asked a friend and he said they would soon disappear. This appeared to be the case but they eventually returned. I would typically get several within the space of a few days and then they would cease again for a month or so. In total, I've had 23 such errors and am starting to get fed up. They appear to occur randomly and I have not been able to associate them with any hardware. I updated my BIOS from A06 to A10 about a week ago but that hasn't solved my problems. I've tried doing some online research about the error codes but I haven't made any progress.

    Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, it will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Your BSOD Is being caused by your network driver:

    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    Thanks for the reply Dsprague. Apologies if this is a stupid question but how do I determine which update I should download? I am not sure how to check which model I have. Thanks again for your help.

    It looks like your Dell Wireless card is using the Atheros driver, which is confusing. But instead check dells website to see if there is an update for wireless drivers there.

    Dsprague,
    I went to Dell and entered my Service Tag: 7RRZ9Q1

    The following options were offered (I had to select the 2nd option in order for "Network" options to be displayed):

    Drivers found
    Filtered driver results for your service tag (4 files)
    All related drivers for your Product (18 files)

    I then filtered for Windows 7 64-bit and this left me with 3 options:

    (see attachment)

    Which (if any) of these should I download and run?

    Thanks.

    Right, that installed without any problems. Is there anyway to check things are functioning properly? Or do I just hope the BSOD has been banished?

    Thank you very very much for taking the time to help. I really hope that has resolved my issues.

    well unfortunately you will just have to wait and see what happens, post back here if you have another bsod and post the new dump files when you do.
