I considered using the on-board sound and it is still not out of the question, although I would like to use my Xonar if at all possible. My issue with adding more drivers to the machine is causing conflicts. As much as I tried to remove all of the third party Uni drivers, some still remained and manually needed to be removed. Reinstalling the Uni drivers, I hope, has solved my problems. If not I will try the on-board sound, if that does not work I will consider reinstalling the operating system.

Do you know of a better way to remove drivers? I have always done the uninstall from control panel, Driver Sweep from Safe Mode and then CC Cleaner in normal mode. It seems to work most of the time.

Clean reinstall would be a nice idea.

You may try it: Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling .... and\or Driver Fusion - The Complete Driver Solution

BSOD again with Xonar DG third party drivers. It was much more stable, but in the end I decided to try the on-board sound. I'm now using, as of today, the on-board sound and it seems to sound pretty good...only time will tell. If this does not work out then a clean install is in my future.
