BSOD STOP 0x00000124, While gaming and stress test.
Hi guys,
I am new to the forums and I hope that doesn't stop me from getting help from you guys. I have been on this BSOD case for 2 months now and today I have tried many things to stop it from happening.
Specs:
MoBo: Asus P8Z68v pro gen-3
Core: Intel i7 2600K (OC'd to 4.7ghz)
RAM: 16gb G skill ram (4x4gb)
Video Card: EVGA GTX680 2gb
PSU: Corsair GS800 (800w)
Cooling: Corsair H100
Standard DVD drive (sorry not sure what it is but it might be in the report, ripped out of my old PC)
SSD: Corsair Force GT3 120gb
HHD(s): 1tb WD caviar green and WD 650gb (sorry unknown type, ripped it out of my old PC)
Scenario
I built this PC from scratch about a year ago, and it recently started to BSOD more frequently, prior to the last two months I had probably about 2 BSODs through out the year. This did not concern me as errors do occur and they were not frequent. However as of late, I had BSOD's on a daily base while gaming, possibly from once a day to maybe 4~ a day. I have deduced that it is a hardware error BSOD, and it only happens while the system is under a heavy load.

The games I played haven't changed through out the year:
TERA Online
Diablo 3
Starcraft 2
Borderlands 2
League of Legends
Dota2
Might be a few others but I can't recall, however those are the big ones.
To be noted, most of the BSOD's occur when I play TERA Online, as that game is possibly the most CPU intensive game out of the list and possibly pushes my system the hardest out of the list.
Also BSOD'd once on Starcraft 2, but just once recently.
Things I have tried and noticed:
- Google people with similar problems.
- memtest (ran for about 2 hours no problems, will run for longer periods of time if need be)
- taken apart my system and reassembled, with a reformat (just done today)
- Downgraded my BIOS to v3202 today before reformat + reassemble (I upgraded it last time I reformatted and the BSOD's only started to happen after I did the reformat and bios upgrade)
- Might be a GPU problem, had problems with the drivers long ago, which didn't allow card to OC, and it also kept switching on an off? screen flickers sometimes and graphics drivers kill itself and turn itself back on. Currently using Drivers 3.14 from nvidia.
- Crystal disk tells me all my 1tb HDD is in cautious condition, other two is in good shape.
After reformatting:
Stressed tested with Prime95, used real temp to check temps and CPU ID to check that all processors are running at full speed.
BSOD'd at 4.3ghz with 1.03 bus, 4.7ghz with 1.00 bus, 4.4ghz with 1.00 bus.
Survived 4.3ghz with 1.00 bus once, (ran for around 17 mins prime said test completed) and then failed again at same speeds after seeing if I could push the machine a bit higher with higher clocks. (reverted back)
If anyone could look in to this and be able to pin point the issue, I would be thankful.
I will attach a screenshot of bluescreenview too if that helps.
If there's any missing information I could give you please let me know and once again thank you for your time.
