I havent got a clue about BSOD's but I hope you can confirm my suspicion that my revodrive 3 2x is playing up.

    Welcome to SevenForums

If you are overclocking any hardware, STOP. Reset any changed values back to default.

    Code:
DISK_HARDWARE_ERROR: There was error with disk hardware
    Code:
    Model	ST3120827AS ATA Device
Model	ATA OCZ-REVODRIVE3 SCSI Disk Device
    Follow this:

If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:
    • SSD firmware
    • BIOS Version
    • Chipset Drivers
    • Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
    • If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.
    Code:
Start Menu\Programs\Symantec Endpoint Protection	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Symantec Endpoint Protection	Public
Please remove Norton/Symantec. Norton tends to cause BSOD-s and causes several other issues. I would recommend uninstalling it with the Norton Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials To Test.

    Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It is free and lightweight:-
       Warning
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

    Perform a System File Check:
    1. Click on the start
    2. Type CMD on Search
    3. Left click and Run as Administrator
    4. Type SFC /scannow

    Full tutorial here:

Disk Check on your hard drive for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

Reduce items at start-up. Nothing except anti-virus is required plus improves the time for logging in windows.

nope not over clocking, not even in xmp mode :) seems like it could be a number of things (suprise suprise!) but the disk hardware comment is where I will start, I saw the red error light flick on the revodrive at the time of the last few BSOD's.

many thanks - after rma if i still get errors i will come back and sift through the rest. thanks again for looking over it :)

before i rma'd my revodrive, i saw a post about the revodrives overheating near vid cards. i have an asus p8z77-m micro atx and a fermi gpu so i considered this plausable. very basically i shoved an old fan in the bottom of the case on the revodrive and one month on i have not had one more bsod. many thanks again to the people here for helping.
