hkfish,
Having more than one program running Real Time Protection is actually counterproductive. As a result, your PC will slow down, system instability becomes a factor, programs conflict with each other, and sometimes one program may stop the other one from removing a threat. As a result, security is decreased, a condition contradictory to what you want to achieve. As a result I want to upgrade to real time monitoring and was wondering is it ok to do with the 3 systems in that they are compatible and ok to run at the same time?
The free versions don't have real-time protection, so MBAM as well as SAS, are On-Demand-Scanners. Both use a different type of scan engine and different hueristic technology to detect and remove threats. IMO, for virus related issues, run a scan from MalwareBytes first and, if the problem persists, then go for SuperAntiSpyware. If one misses a threat, the other one will more than likely catch and remove it. However, would not run both of them at the same time.
Please start a topic in the System Security - Windows 7 Help ForumsAlso do you think the virus has been fully removed?
We'll run you through a couple of routines to make sure. :)
