    BSOD Problem Since Cleaning PC

    Hello all,

A week or two ago, my PC wouldn't boot. I opened the case and it was clogged up with dust. I cleared the dust off the vans using a small hand vacuum. Anything on the cards/components I kinda picked off the big parts. The lil tiny layer I left there, and closed it. PC booted fine again and no apparent problems.

Since then however, Sometimes I will get random BSOD. Sometimes I have only one, sometimes none for a day. Then all of a sudden I can get 10 in a row.

I have tried updating my Graphic Card drivers and CPU, but that did not help. I've also done virus and malware scans, but that did not help either. I even did a system restore.

I did install a new direct x driver (PhysX) shortly before I got these BAD_POOL_HEADER errors though, which I needed for a game called Antichamber.

the BSOD message is "BAD_POOL_HEADER", followed by STOP: 0x00000019 (0x0000000020, and then some more...).

I have added the requires files as a .rar

Thank you very much in advance for any help I may get :)

Apparently the crash is caused by Etron USB 3.0 Extensible Hub Driver.
    Code:

Update it from Etron Technology, Inc.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

    • Double click to open it.
    • Click this button only:
    • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

Uninstall AVG using AVG Remover. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

    Uninstall the following programs:
    Code:
    Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE
    Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\AutoGreen
    Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\ET6
    Start Menu\Programs\MSI Afterburner
    Start Menu\Programs\MSI Afterburner\SDK
    Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

    Let us know the results.

Thank you very much for the fast and detailed help! I have done everything you suggest. As far as the Etron thing is concerned: I uninstalled the old drivers, then download and installed the new drivers from their website.

As it can take a few days for the problem to manifest again, I will assume it is fixed. If I do BSOD again, I'll make a follow-up post on here.

    Thanks!!

    You are welcome mate :)
If it crashes again, post the subsequent crash dumps, you know the BSOD posting instructions :)
