New laptop experiencing frequent BSOD!

    Let's just say that I have this rar file that has virus, I use it as a AV checker. And yes sir, I kinda like exploring the world out there. Do you any AV that is a notch higher than MSE?

    If you want to do things like that there's many better ways, such as using Virtual Machines, which you can just revert back to their starting points if/when they get infected.

    AVOID all suites of software - go for the pure AV type if you can as it avoids all sorts of other interactions which can cripple a system.

    Avast free is good
    Kaspersky is good (but can give some problems - trial it first)
    Avoid Norton, McAfee and (reluctantly) AVG
    So long as you pick one of the majors then they are all pretty much the same - all have their own strengths and weaknesses (and problems)

    You would just have to download and install the driver.
