BSOD when coming out of sleep

I'm getting a BSOD when my W7 x64 Dell comes out of sleep mode. The errors are all over the place, but I'm thinking a driver -- just can't figure out which one. Hoping someone can help diagnose.

So far I have:
- Run memtest86 repeatedly with no errors found
- Run sfc /scannow 3 times with no issues reported
- Turned off hibernate
- *Tried* to clean up any old/unused drivers

Attached are the dump files.

Thanks for any/all assistance. This is driving me nuts.

Please check the link below for running the diagnostics on the Dell system which would isolate if there is any hardware issue:

Also, let us know the model number for the system you have so we can provide you with any drivers that might require to be updated on the system.

Dell's diagnostics found no issues.

It is a Dell XPS L412Z with an Intel i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz

Thanks for providing us this information. Please check the link below to update BIOS and Chipset driver for the same:



Kindly update the drivers and let us know the results of the same. Also, if possible kindly post a screenshot of the blue screen error you are getting on the system.

SandeepP, if you cant analyze a dump file then please refrain from posting in BSOD analysis threads and leave it to somebody that knows what they are doing.

I flashed the BIOS (now at A06) and applied the chipset update. Will now wait to see if BSOD reappears...

You shouldn't be running two antivirus apps together, that enough is a reason to cause a thing like BSOD on a computer Please remove them using their removal tool from here: Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software - ESET Knowledgebase or use Revo uninstaller and uninstall in Advanced Mode and delete the left over registry of the software.We recommended Microsoft Security Essentials from a strict BSOD perspective. Is most compatible & provides most stability compared to other antivirus app/Internet Security Software.

Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Perform a System File Check to check the integrity of all protected Windows 7:
  • Click Start Menu
  • Click All Programs
  • Click Accessories
  • Right click Command Prompt
  • Click Run as administrator
  • Type
  • Code:
    sfc /scannow
  • and press Enter
Full tutorial here:Check your hard drive(s) for errors by running chkdsk:Number down items at start-up. Keep only your anti-virus, this also improves the time for logging into windows.
  • Click on the Start button
  • Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  • Select the “Startup” tab.
  • Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  • Apply > OK
  • Accept then restart.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64


ClamWin is the only AV program that is running in the background. AVG has been uninstalled (I'll clean up the Start directory) and Spy-Bot is only unused when needed.

I have run CHKDSK multiple times (in a row) with no errors encountered.

Same with SFC (3 times in a row) -- no problems.

Same with MemCheck86 (15 passes) -- no problems.

Scan the system for possible virus infection.

Little but enough reason to suspect a malware, specially as it is accompanied by misbehaving touchpad driver.

Only after both the scans are done, try to update the touchpad driver from Drivers | Synaptics.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time that I have had a BSOD when getting my system out of sleep mode. When it happens there is no warning. Everything is starting up and loading so the system is bogged down; not very responsive. Other than that, there is nothing that would indicate the immanence of a BSOD....
