    Intermittent BSOD ntoskrnl.exe

Hi I have a Toshiba Satellite L755-S5158 Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit system. I have been intermittently getting BSOD upon boot, but the system restarts once or twice and everything is fine. I have attached what BlueScreenView showed. Another BSOD showed Symantec was the cause I have comepltely removed Symantec and installed MSSE. Any ideas on how to correct this.

    Thanks

Have you had another BSOD since you removed Norton? Bacause according to your Dump files that was what was causing the crashes:

I just removed Norton today but was concerned due to the fact that I saw that Norton was causing the crashes, but in another dump I noticed the ntoskrnl.exe causing the crashes also. I will test the system for the next week and see if it happens again. Any ideas on what the ntoskrnl.exe is?

    Thanks

Ntoskrnl is the core of the opperating system, the reason it was blamed is likely because it was what caused the crash seeing that the drivers were doing things that they should not have been doing. So really it is being blamed for things it is not doing. Just out of curiosity what are you using for antivirus now that Norton is gone?

This is a system I was fixing for a friend. I have never liked Norton nor will I work on systems if they choose to run Norton. I loaded Microsoft Securit Essentials to see if they are happy with that, if not will use Avast. Thanks for the help.
