    BSOD, Random Reboot, ATHR.SYS

Over the last 2 days, I get the BSOD with an error message during the crash dump identifying "ATHR.SYS" as a problem. It began yesterday with my PC shutting down and not rebooting itself. Today, the PC shuts down and attempts to reboot itself, sometimes successfully and sometimes turning off an on in quick succession (about one attempt every 5 seconds) but not even getting to the boot screen.

I tried system restore with no success. I removed one of my 2 sticks of RAM and was able to boot into Windows but the PC has rebooted itself once since then. I have attached the SF Diagnostic report to this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Harris ,

Looks like your BSOD was caused by athr.sys as it states in the title .

Driver Description: Atheros Extensible Wireless LAN driver for CB42/CB43/MB42/MB43 Network Adapter - D-Link AirPlus DWL-G520 Wireless PCI Adapter

Also your Kaspersky drivers are causing issues:

    Probably caused by: Kaspersky

Please uninstall Kaspersky Anti Virus as it is contributing to your BSOD's.
    As an alternative please install:

    Microsoft Security Essentials.
Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability
compared to other antiviruses/internet security software.

Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

    Cheers

Thank you both for your responses. I had a perfect storm of problems that took a couple of days to figure out and rectify. I did have a problem with Kaspersky and my network card drivers and after uninstalling them both thought the problem was solved. But then the computer randomly refused to post again and I finally (after swapping out RAM and disconnecting hardware devices one-by-one with no results) replaced my power supply today. That did the trick and now I'm up and running again. Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it.
