BSOD and Sudden Video Signal Losses.
Hi all,
been a member here, i always look for your expertise. I am so fed up and frustrated with the above problems. I dont know where to start looking, although i am a relative advanced computer engineer. I need your opinion. I am sorry fot his lengthy description you are going to read, but i am experienceing so many problems that i dont know where to start. Since i can remember (i.e since when i bought the current setup i have) i was experiencing different kind of problems that none of it was resolved.
Since the first day that I bought and assembled the parts, the PC would not start, or would start and then immediately shut down, beeing unable to restart it again, unless several minutes had passed. Thinking it was the inadequate PSU, i purchased, 2 years ago, a Thermaltake 750W gold rating. However, the problem persisted and i learned to live with it. Just for the info, everytime the pc shuts down, i can hear "boom" - "boom" by the speakers, every couple of "booms" I also see the light of a usb switch to light on and off. Then after a minute the sound becomes a diminishing "hisssss" and when this ends i know that i can power my PC again... This happened untill last week, and i am sure it will happen again...
I am also experiencing sudden blue screens during copy of files from one of the raid 0 setups on my machine. Not just now, but since i can remeber. I had searched everything, like driver issue on my silicon pci addon raid card, , then i send my new hardrives for check in Seagate, believing they caused the problem. They returned them back saying there was no problem with them. (I have also another raid on mobo's sata that doesnt cause any problems)
The blue screens contnue up untill now, only not so frequent...
Last week a changed my graphics cards, moving from 2 8800GT SLI in one Geforce 670 by Asus.
Having all these problems, i thought that it would be a good move, not only because i would be able to play Crysis 3 that only supports direct X, but also due to the less power -probably- required by the system to run one instead of two graphics cards, just in case the above issues were related to the 750W power supply...
After installing the card and for the first 3 days i could not even start the PC. It would start and shut down, it would not start at all, it would not show any signal on the screen. Then i managed to get it up and running.
Since yesterday the computer completely randomly (i may be editing an excel for example) seems like it stops providing power to the graphics card, because the screen goes black and is looking for signal...
I must also say that everychange i make, for example when i changed this graphic card, or when i installed the second 8800gt i used to have, the first thing that goes wrong is that the PC informs me during boot up that the raid 0 (the one attached to motherboard) is failing. If i unplug or replug any hardware then the raid works fine. This has happened repeatedly. Its not a matter of loose cables, i have checked so many times....
My question is, why am i so cursed, and what do you think it is? I start to suspect that is the mobo or a broken capacitor. How can all this happen on the same PC for Gods, sake? I have built over 15-20 PCs and i am dealing with making my own PC's since the 386 family.... I am just writing this so you know that i am not completely inexperienced...
What do you think it is? Because if i spend €500 to replace mobo and processor (mobo 1156) and it proves not to be the problem, then i will jump out the window... Especially the thing with my new graphics card... Why does the signal suddenly appears to be lost and the screen goes black?
