    BSOD on Ankermann

    Hi,

I just got a German computer (an Ankermann):http://www.amazon.co.uk/ANKERMANN-PC...bs_computers_1 (edit: sorry link pointed to wrong computer).

And if I leave it on for a long duration (such as when I'm uploading or downloading) by the time I come back it has crashed.

Here are the files as specified on another thread:

    Attachment 262019

    Attachment 262018

(Not sure why it copied into two files but I hope all the info is there that you need).

In addition, here is the error message I receive after rebooting:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48

    Locale ID: 2057

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: c4
    BCP1: 0000000000000091
    BCP2: 0000000000000002
    BCP3: FFFFFA800C749720
    BCP4: 0000000000000000
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\033113-30950-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Devon\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-345292-0.sysdata.xml

Also it keeps asking me for a windows activation key even though it was already supposed to have been installed on the computer. I did get a disk with one on but it does not accept it. Not sure if this is related which if it is then I understand I would have to take it up with the seller/manufacturer if key is really invalid.

Attachment 262017 (screen shot showing I have 13 days to activate).

Any ideas on what's causing and whether I can resolve it myself or do you reckon I need to return it and get a different computer. Everything else is fine with it otherwise.

    Cheers

All three dumps you uploaded are blaming your nvidia drivers for the crash
Update your graphics drivers to the latest ones, its best to uninstall old drivers then run Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling then install new drivers from here Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers option 2 is easiest as will auto detect what you need.

There are files missing from your upload, if you require any further assistance please run the SF tool again and wait for it to complete (can take a couple minutes) then upload the output file unedited

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Here are the complete files from the Diagnostic Tool (sorry I must have been impatient when it came to waiting for them to be ready).

    Attachment 262029

Will try updating drivers in the mean time.

    Cheers again

OK had a look through other files and you have two AV installed this is a big no no
You need to lose one of them or preferably uninstall them both and use Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows
It has the best compatibility and we see plently of BSODs caused/contributed to by AV especially AVG

Updated the nvidia drives so will need to give it some time to see if it crashes again.

I'll get rid of avg and mcafee and download the other like you suggest.

    Thanks again

Looks like everything is fine. I have had some problems with games Ive installed since but at least no BSOD. I'll give it a couple of weeks and if I am still having problems then I might return it after all. I also manged to fix the Windows validation (or whatever it was) by reinstalling/upgrading it and validating it over the phone.

    Cheers again.
