you have to know if it is a laptop or not, right?

edit how important is the stuff on the hard disk? worth spending money to get it fixed?

We are all trying to help get you to a SAFE state before everything get wiped out.

Normally I leave this battery out for 1/2 hour & the power cord unplugged from the AC wall power soure in your house. then I put the battery back in. It resets the computer BIOS to the default factory settings. So we might have something to work with.

Is the stuff on the HD worth paying to get back?? we can get you re-installed but not without wiping the drive.

All my music was on there, about 2 thousand dollars worth a huge collection, Irreplaceable artwork, And some programs like adobe photoshop i lost the disc to. Half is easily replaceable, but the other not so easily if at all. but im going to let this bios reset do its thing and hope to god it works. But i really dont want to have to wipe anything. It'd be nice if i could update and just save it to a windows.old file like before. It'd be so much easier.
