BSOD whenever I leave the laptop idle for a 2+ hours.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on Lenovo laptop running at 1.90GHz.

Power options set on high performance.
Sleeps when I close the lid.

The BSOD occurs whether I close the top to put it to sleep or just leave it open to continue running.

The BSOD: Driver Power State Failure

I've followed posting instructions and uploaded the zip file.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

The BSOD seems to be caused by:
    Code:
    S6000KNT.sys Mon Sep 13 09:18:58 2010 (4C8D9822)
    Chicony Webcam Driver
Update to the latest version available. If that does not help, unplug the device and remove any related software and see if that helps.

    sptd.sys Sat Mar 3 22:45:52 2012 (4F524AC0)
SCSI Pass Through Direct Host - Daemon Tools (known BSOD issues with Win7)
    http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=sptd.sys
    • Uninstall DAEMON Tools and any Alcohol % software. It uses a driver called sptd.sys which is known to cause BSODs in Windows 7. Uninstall the software using Add/Remove Programs. Reboot the system. Once the program is uninstalled, run sptd.sys uninstaller to remove the driver from your system.

As an alternative, many people recommend the use of Total Mounter or Magic ISO

    • Keep less stuff at the start-up. Only anti-virus, this helps avoid driver conflicts and improves time to log in to windows.

This tutorial USB Selective Suspend - Turn On or Off may help you:

    To Disable Selective Suspend:

    1. open the control panel
    2. go to power options (you may have to set view to small icons)
    3. click change plan settings
    4. in the window that opens:
    5. click change plan settings
    6. click change advanced power settings, expand usb and ensure usb selective suspend is disabled.

    • Run disk check for errors on your Hard Drive(s) Disk Check

Update video card drivers to their latest:

    Code:
    atikmdag.sys Thu Dec 15 19:49:23 2011 (4EE9FAE3)

Uninstalled, reinstalled, then updated the camera driver. Left it alone overnight. No more bsod!

    Thanks Koolkat!
