BSOD while gaming.

Hello.

I have attached my SF folder.

For a while now i have been getting repeating BSOD's when playing games like Battlefield 3 and Arma 2. The problem has been getting worse, so i have tried some different things, but without a succesful result.
Things i have tried:

• Swap out the RAM
• Swap out the graphics card
• Updated drivers for graphics card and sound card
• Installing a sound card
• Disabling onboard sound in BIOS
• Reinstalling the games
• Updating punkbuster

Noticed you have Daemon Tools . Remove that by using Control Panel Once done remove the SPTD.sys DRIVER

Click on Uninstall if its greyed out then the stpd.sys file has been removed with the Uninstallation.

You will also want to Update Firefox.

I am in the process of reinstalling Battlefield 3, and my graphics card driver. I have also removed Daemon tools now.
When i ran the SPTD (un)installer you linked, the sptd.sys was not installed on my PC, so i could of course not uninstall it (:

Can you tell me how to update my USB drivers? I couldn't find anything on the ASUS website.

What is the entire model of your motherboard?

If the SPTD.sys was greyed out that means it was removed. In the uninstall of Daemon Tools.

The BSOD is caused by Creative Hardware Abstract Layer Driver.

Update to 314.22 WHQL. Apply the latest version of nVidia display driver.
You may download it directly, from our forum link Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers Windows 7; or you may opt for the Option 2 of Drivers- Download NVIDIA Drivers for “Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products” (it requires java installed).



Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

• Double click to open it.
• Click this button only:
• 
• If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

Also NVIDIA/AMD Video Card - Test with OCCT, take both the stress test and memory test. I guess the card is old?



Do some general USB related troubleshooting. For the ports, first, uninstall and reinstall the USB ports drivers.

1. Right click on Computer icon > manage. It will open the computer management window.
2. Click on "Device Manager" in the left pane, it will list all installed devices up.
3. Expand "USB Serial Bus Controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
4. Click on one item to select, then right click and uninstall.
5. Do the same for all.
6. Restart the computer.
7. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate drivers.

And, Disable USB Selective Suspense too.

For the devices, first, detach all the USB devices other than the keyboard and mouse.
Then, Update the drivers for them all, including the keyboard and mouse, if any third party drivers are installed for them.

Stop overclocking. USE the CPU,GPU and RAM at their default.

I can't seem to find an newer driver, than the one i got (on creative's website). The soundcard is pretty old, but i suspected it could be my onboard sound card that caused the BSOD's, so that's why i installed the external Creative Audigy 2 soundcard (which i can't find newer drivers for). I found and installed Creative ALchemy, is this the one?

I have now updated my graphics card driver to 314.22 WHQL. Daemon tools and SPTD have been uninstalled.
My card is not that old, i bought it a couple of months ago.

I tested my card with OCCT, got no errors (i think). The logs are attached to this post.

I uninstalled some of the USB drivers, but then my mouse and keyboard didn't work, and i had to restart my computer manually. I have attached a screenshot of my USB/device manager.

I have disabled USB Selective Suspend.

The only things i have in my USB ports are my mouse + keyboard.

You say stop overclocking. I don't believe my computer is? Or can you see it is in the files?

I ran the installer VistaKing sent me, the AsusSetup.exe. I believe this is the right one?

I will now test the modifications, see if they have helped anything. So far thanks for your replies.

The file I supplied is your chipset drivers which also control your USB ports on the motherboard .
