BSOD on startup 0x0000007B and CPU running hot in BIOS

    Hi,

I'm getting a BSOD on startup and it won't boot as far a the login screen, the computer keeps restarting. I get the same problem when trying to boot into safe mode. I checked the BIOS and the CPU temp is averaging 70-80'c. I have a Corsair H80 which i have a feeling has failed.
    My BSOD reads:

    *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A97E8, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0X0000000000000000)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Tom

It sounds like your PC may be shutting down to save the CPU from damaging its self, the heat your seeing on your CPU is approaching dangerous you may want to look into getting a new CPU cooler. If you look at the specifications for your process or you can see that the Tcase (max operating temperature) is 72.6 degrees Celsius:

Just to add, you may also want to clean all the fans, heatsink and slots carefully inside the case of your computer, use a can of compressed air in short bursts. Have you checked your thermal paste on the CPU?

Your hard-drive also has most probably failed due to the heat:

    STOP 0x0000007B: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

    Code:
Usual causes: Hard drive, File system, Boot sequence errors, Device driver, Virus infection (in particular check the MBR)
