BSOD 0x7E every type of boot: normal, any safe mode, even win 7 discs

Hello there! I am trying to help a friend with his computer and I have been unable to find any way to alleviate his problem. I have read the thread on how I'm supposed to correctly post BSOD problems but I can't even get into windows to begin with. On every type of boot, he is greeted with a BSOD. Even when using a recovery disc or using windows startup fix.

When booting "Launch Startup Repair" off of the HDD
    PHASE0_EXCEPTION
    ***STOP: 0x00000078 (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF880009D15D0, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

When booting with "Start Windows Normally"
It goes to the "Starting Windows", the red and yellow orbs appear for a moment then BSOD flashes o the screen for a split second with
    ***STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF800035466F1, 0xFFFFF880009A90F8, 0xFFFFF880009A8950)

When trying to boot with any windows 7 installation DVD
    ***STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF8000D28D565, 0xFFFFF880009A8B58, 0xFFFFF880009A83B0)

He documented this one but I don't know where it came from
    ***STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF880011C5100, 0xFFFFF880009A8F58, 0xFFFFF88009A87B0)
    *** ACPI.sys - Address FFFFF880011C5100 base at FFFFF8800117F000, DateStamp 4a5b106

If anyone wants more BSOD screens, I'll document or even record them. There's just no way of getting into the system at all.

    Naki

Try running a hard drive test and also tell us the specs of the PC please .

    Run a memtest

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Let it scan over night or until it fails . If it fails test each ram in every slot .

Thank you for taking the time to help me.
How would I run a hard drive test?

    Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX
    CPU: AMD FX-6100 Black Edition
    Graphics Card: EVGA Nvidia 570GTX
    HDD: Western Digital Caviar 1TB
    RAM: 4x4 G.Skill DDR3-1600 PC3-12800
    Power Supply: Raidmax RX-630SS
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64
If there is any more information you need, I will be happy to supply you with it.

I had run the Memtest that comes with Windows 7 and there were no errors but I will still run the one you linked and get back to you.
