BSOD while playing and hosting, error 0x0000000a

Recently my machine has been crashing with the error 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or 0x0000000a' while playing on and hosting a modded minecraft server. It has happened across multiple servers, with different mods so it is not an error with the server.
While playing, my system will freeze, go to the BSOD, and then restart giving me the 'Windows did not shutdown correctly' boot screen. I can then start Windows normally, and with nothing wrong.
This has happened 6 times now, and according to BlueScreenView the driver it is caused by varies, and is sometimes the Kernel, and others have been a sound driver or my touchpad driver.

I did some research, and I am now thinking that it is a RAM issue. My computer has 4GB of RAM, and I do not think it is Windows running out of memory because I still leave 2GB free for everything else. However, I can play other games without getting the BSOD. I am thinking corrupted RAM. I am attempting to run MemTest86+, but will do that later because I cannot seem to get my system to boot to USB (Don't want to break my laptop) so I will try from CD later.

Is there anything you recommend me doing to help fix this? Or is it likely to be faulty RAM and need replacing?

    Thanks

I Had a look through your dump files and three things stuck out to me, It may be ram but it may also be a driver faults:

    your video driver:
    Code:
fffff880`053b7698 fffff880`048bd08f*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for igdkmd64.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for igdkmd64.sys
     igdkmd64+0x7208f
    Driver Reference Table - igdkmd64.sys

please update it from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

    touch pad driver:
    Code:
    fffff880`057ad7a8 fffff880`0454bdfdUnable to load image ETD.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for ETD.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for ETD.sys
     ETD+0x3dfd
    Driver Reference Table - ETD.sys

Pleas update it from here: ELAN Microelectronics Corp.

    And Symantec/Norton
    Code:
    fffff880`07b637b8 fffff880`04efa5a3Unable to load image \??\C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\N360_6.0.1.2\Definitions\BASHDefs\20120215.001\BHDrvx64.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for BHDrvx64.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for BHDrvx64.sys
     BHDrvx64+0x875a3
    Driver Reference Table - BHDrvx64.sys

Please remove Norton Using the Norton removal tool, and replace it with a combination of Microsoft Security essentials and Malwarebytes Anti-malware (I see you have this one installed already so you can skip it)

But by all means do check your RAM as well it can never hurt just to be sure that it is not a hardware problem.

Ah okay thanks, I do try to keep my drivers up-to-date, but will go and check again. As with Norton, I'm pretty sure I uninstalled it a few years ago when my subscription I got with my laptop ended. I will go and check this as well.

I may also try to run MemTest later today, and I will get back to you with the results.

    A few questions...

Ok, I have updated my Intel drivers, and used the Norton Tool.

However, I looked on ELAN's site and it recommends disabling the current driver before updating it to a newer version. Which I am guessing would disable my touchpad, meaning I would have no method of starting the update process! (I do not have a USB mouse btw) Also, on the download site (ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download X53E, I'm on Win7 64bit) it shows several different options. One being a newer driver, but with version 8.0.5.3, or and older one with version 15.3.6.0. Which one would be correct? I am guessing the newer one, but because the older one has a completely different version number it threw me a bit!

Also, I wondering if you could help with booting to USB (For MemTest). I have attached the boot screen of my BIOS(sorry that it is a zip, but it wouldn't let me upload it as a JPG), and from what I understand the current boot order is B0, then B2. Unfortunately, I have no idea what these are but I am guessing that they are my hard drives. I am thinking B0 is my C:/, and B2 is my D:/. I was poking about a bit and managed to get it to create a new option which I think was to check for USBs that could be booted from. However, when I came to trying to swap the order about, it confused me again It seemed like I could select a new boot order, but it looked like it would overwrite the current option. This may sound stupid, but I don't really want to delete the thing that boots up my OS. I'm guessing it would just swap them about, so the order I want to try and get would be:
    #1: USB
    #2: B0
    #3: B2
but when I create the USB boot option, the order is:
    #1: B0
    #2: B2
    #3: USB
So I'm guessing that it (hopefully) won't overwrite the code that boots my system, but I would like to be sure!

And on a final note, out of pure curiosity, what program did you use to open up the dump files?

    Thanks again :)

Yes you want the newer driver. The touch pad can likely wait for the time being.

you can either change the boot order in the BIOS (you can always switch it back once you are done using memtest) or you can try pressing F12 instead of what ever key you press to enter the bios screen, pressing F12 should bring up a boot menu which will ask you what you would like to boot to, it should have a few options including usb.

And on a final note, out of pure curiosity, what program did you use to open up the dump files?

Well I was looking forward to marking this as solved, but it appears my laptop does not want to.

I managed to borrow a USB mouse to update my driver, so that is all the ones you said I should now.

I also managed to get memtest to run (I figured out I was using the wrong version :/), and after 10 passes no errors were detected.

So things were looking good and I decided to test if my computer was going to BSOD or not. And... it did. The cause this time was the kernel (ntoskrnl.exe) and that is not as easy to fix as the other ones. What should I do now? I could try a system restore to before they started happening, but if it is a update Windows will keep trying to install it.

Lets try this . Click on type in CMD inside Search programs and files. Right click on CMD under Programs (1) choose Run as administrator. If you get a User Access Control window click on the Yes button. Command Prompt will open up to the path C:\Windows\System32>_ .

    Type this command

    SFC /SCANNOW
    Press <ENTER>

Tell me what the results are .

If it finds corrupted files please upload the CBS.log
Location of the log : C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.LOG

It didn't find anything, so what else is there to try? Is it possible that the crash could be caused by a memory leak in the Java VM caused by one of the mods? Although it has happened across different ones, so may be a issue with Java, or just something else. I'm out of ideas.

Every time you get a Blue Screen upload the dmp file using the Tool. Click on the GRAB ALL button on the top of the tool

    See image below for reference

If you don't use Java ... You may uninstall it .
