What clock speed for the RAM does your motherboard support?

For your Windows installation not activating for some reason, then post a thread here: Windows Updates & Activation - Windows 7 Help Forums

Well it says it supports up to 2000mhz, 2500 overclocked. And it also says it supports 1866, but lists only a few specific models of RAM though I doubt those are the only ones that work. I do know that the FX-series of cpus only support 1866 in dual-channel mode, but thats how I am running them.

Have you loaded the BIOS to it's default settings?

There is a note that not all the RAM modules can be verified, so it might still be compatible at the current clockspeed.

Yes immediately after I updated the BIOS, I rebooted and went into BIOS and loaded the defaults. After a few days of it working fine, all I did was enable the XMP profile to enable the RAM to run at 1866. That was all I changed. So now I have changed everything back to default including disabling the XMP profile. It seems to run just fine at 1600, so now I am pretty sure that is my issue. What confuses me though, is that the board and cpu are supposed to be able to run those speeds in dual channel... and saying that I just consulted my mobo manual yet again and I do have the RAM installed in the recommended slots for dual channel.

I suppose I can always run the RAM at 1600 and it won't hurt performance much, but it just really annoys me that I can't run the RAM like it should be able to and I would just like to know why after all this hassle. Do you think I should try to get it to work or would it be better to just run it at 1600?

I would leave it at the current clockspeed, there's always a chance that the motherboard isn't able to run that particular type of RAM at that clockspeed.

Ya makes sense. Maybe I will try to find out why it causes issues later, probably when I decide to overclock my cpu and gpu. Thanks again for all the help. Sure was one helluva process. Ill look at it as a learning experience I guess haha.
