    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.

Please uninstall the display driver as suggested in Post #2 and then install GeForce 306.23 Driver

Ok you are right somehow I had 3.11 driver and I have no clue how, I had the 3.06 one before and i followed the guide to prevent automatic updating so i'm not sure how it updated the driver.

I think it will just be the same issue as before where it is the wrong driver. The problem for me is my PC keeps reverting to this driver that causes the BSOD's every time it reboots, even though I follow that guide to stop automatic driver updating by windows.

If the driver auto update work, it should install the latest version directly, not the earlier one than the latest.

I think the best is you should start afresh with a clean install. The situation is not sounding very good.

Well I looked up what you are talking about, and it would appear that windows update only provides the 311.06 drivers for Nvidia graphics cards. Which for my PC, I seem to get BSOD's with the 311 and 310 lines and the stopped responding and has recovered with the 314 lines of drivers. My main issue is why is windows update still installing a new driver even when i have it disabled. And how do I stop that?

If you have followed Drivers - Turn Off Automatic Driver Installation, driver should not be installed via windows update anymore .... at least as far as I know and experienced.

You told that you have followed it and still the driver is being auto installed. That's why I am finding no more way to stop it.

Arc, Have you tried setting windows update to 'let me decide what updates to install'? That will keep it from automatically downloading and installing updates, but I don't know if it will stop it updating from the driver store. If that does not work, set windows update to never install windows updates.

Steve, here ithe issue is, as far as I am seeing, the latest display driver causing it:

The earlier two versions are buggy ... in most of the cases they problems, and those are problematic here, too.

So I suggested an earlier stable version. Here is a part of my suggestion to him ...
    Install the latest WHQL only.

    • Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
      • 3D Vision Control Driver
      • 3D Vision Driver
      • Graphics Driver
      • HD Audio Driver
      • PhysX
      • nvidia Update

(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
    • Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
    • Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

    Learned the technique from you.

But, despite of Drivers - Turn Off Automatic Driver Installation, it is automatically updating to a buggy one. How can it be stopped?
