The beta version of Win7 has expired and has a 2 hour timeout built in.
The RC is still good AFAIK.
I didn't know that. I have the 7000 build, thankfully I know now that my cpu is still good. So setting my clock a year back will stop the 2 hour shut down?
If setting the clock back does work, it may be too late, since the shutdowns already began. A 'dirty bit' may have been set.

This problem is too easy to solve through more elegant means.

Setting the clock back is a possibility, but that's illegal and we don't support that type of experimentation here.

Besides, even if it does work (which I'm pretty sure it won't) - once you connect to the web it's gonna tattle to Microsoft on you.
