Win 7 hangs on Welcome screen on Acer Netbook

    Sorry for not being available..

    Handed the netbook over to a tech.

    He formatted C and D drive. Deleted C partition of 20 gb.
    D now became C - 30 gb.. Reinstall of win 7 took 21 hours !!!

    Still netbook is slow. Ran DLGDIAG tool. Did quick test.

    It cleared the test and Pass status.. Does it mean drive is ok?

    Do the extended test. Drive is very slow!! 21 hours to install win7 is ridiculous

    I turned on the netbook.. It kept giving long beeps..

    I turned it off and back on.. And.. Damn.. It booted up in under 5 secs.. How did that happen..

    PC operations and file transfer rate normal.. Is that RAM issue?.. My friend says hard drive is fine.

    I am confused now.. Just was about to take it to a service center.. i am lost.

    how does your friend know hard drive is fine?

    "It kept giving long beeps"=> This beeps mean something. Was it long-short-long... or? Please explain

    Beeps were long for 3 secs, pause and continued in same manner.

    I have installed Wifi, Graphics and Chipset drivers upto now. Restarted to check.

    Same thing.. Very slow. Refuses to load..

    Gonna take it to service center.

    enter BIOS. What BIOS do you have? AWARD, AMI or....?
