    BSOD WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL by ntoskrnl.exe

For the past month or more I have been getting the BSOD and an application to read the dmp files tells me it is the ntoskrnl.exe application causing this error.

I need help in getting this fixed.

    Thank you,
    ~John Conklin

PS. I am attaching the dmp file as instructed in the posting instruction for this thread.

    Hi,

Please remove these programs and any other Registry utilities,
Windows 7 does not require them and they will most likely do more harm than good:

    Ad-aware Antivirus
    Advanced fix 2012
    Ashampoo Anti-malware
    Ashampoo WinOptimizer
    Reg utility
    Registry crawler

Run SFC to check the integrity of all Windows 7 system files:
    • Click on Start > Type in search cmd
Right-click cmd after results are displayed and Run as Administrator
Type SFC /scannow at the prompt
(Note: There is a space between SFC and /scannow)
    SFC Tutorial

       Note
Select option two. If any problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately
reboot the computer after each scan.

Also run chkdsk in an elevated command prompt in order to check for file system errors and bad sectors on your HDD:

    • Click on Start>Type in search cmd
    • Right click cmd and Run as Administrator
    • At the command prompt please type: chkdsk /f/r
(There is a space between chkdsk and /f/r)

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.

       Tip
    Run these tests overnight

    Post back any results

    cheers

OK a number of things to start:

All of ths needs to go it is nothing but crap ware, and or is conflicting with other things running on your system:
    Code:
    Start Menu\Programs\Ad-Aware Antivirus
    Start Menu\Programs\Advanced Fix 2012
    Start Menu\Programs\Ashampoo\Ashampoo Anti-Malware
    Start Menu\Programs\Ashampoo\Ashampoo Anti-Malware\Tools
    Start Menu\Programs\Ashampoo\Ashampoo WinOptimizer 7
    Start Menu\Programs\Glary Utilities
    Start Menu\Programs\ParetoLogic
    Start Menu\Programs\ParetoLogic\FileCure
    Start Menu\Programs\RegInOut System Utilities
    Start Menu\Programs\Registry Crawler
    Start Menu\Programs\Registry Crawler
    Start Menu\Programs\RegUtility
Registry Cleaner Tests - Why NOT To Use One!

Next please uninstall McAfee it is a known causer of BSODs use the McAfee Removal Tool to uninstall it. then replace it with a combination of Microsoft Security Essentials, and Malwarebytes Anti-malware. Tip when installing Malwarebytes be sure to uncheck the box that offers to start a free trial.

Once that is done run the system file checker to check for any (hopefully) repairable damage done by the registry "cleaners" and "optimizer" programs that you had installed.

    SFC.EXE /SCANNOW
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the search box, right click on the cmd.exe and select "Run as adminstrator"
In the black window that opens, type "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Let the program run and post back what it says when it's done.
