Do you mean you tried updating them the method(s) mentioned in this tutorial? Driver Install - Device Manager. You can also follow steps outlined on the USB Driver - General Fix for Problems tutorial and see if it helps.Re: those USB drivers. I went to Device Manager and tried to update them, they said they were already up-to-date. I can go try and get manual upgrades, but I wasn't sure if the best thing to do was to Uninstall them and the Renesas USB Controller Program they're connect to? I wanted to make sure I was clear on the best way to tackle them.
Hmm, I'm starting to think it is a hardware issue but we'll see.Do not know if this machine's under warranty or not. Re: Windows, I have done a factory reset. Not a clean reinstall from an iso, but the reset image did require me to set up Win7. I was worried this was a hardware issue causing all the errors, and didn't want to do a clean install only to start all over again trying to fix the issue, so that's when I came to the forum.
Memtest is good at what it does but we have come across a few threads where one error was found after about 20 passes. If you do not want to run memtest that long, borrow RAM sticks that are compatible with the lappy, see if its stable works any better or does not give blue screens. Also, question about Memtest: the first time I ran it, it ran for 13 passes, error-free, and was after the system was warm for a few hours. So, should I just go and do the 8-10 passes for the cooled off variable?
Can you post a screenshot for us? :) How to Upload and Post a Screenshot and File in Seven ForumsI have not been able to see any indication of overheating, even after tests. (Ended up going with Speccy.)
