Hi all,
I've been experiencing BSOD and random freezing/restarts sporatically for a month now. Generally speaking it happens while playing a game online, and the PC will freeze. More often then not there is no BSOD message. Here are my system specs, sfc txt file, and the file generated using the SF Diagnostics Tool. I feel as though I am passing the buck here, but I am truely exasperated.

Looking through your files it is apparent that this is being caused by your xbox controler driver , which the older versions are known to cause:

Updated my Xbox Controllers driver, but just received a BSOD after logging into Tera. Attached is the .dmp file
It looks like this BSOD is being caused by the SCSI pass through direct host driver, this is usually used by Daemon tools, but I don't see that installed on your system. Please download and run this tool:
DuplexSecure - Downloads
When the tool runs click the uninstall button and let the tool do its job, when it is done close out of the window.
Daemon Tools was previously on my PC. I uninstalled it after beggining to receive BSODs a month ago. I had managed to find this tool you linked me as well after the fact, and had ran it to remove the SPTD process from my PC as well. Anyhow, I just downloaded your provided link and ran it again. Hopefully this will remedy my situation. :)
If it doesn't get rid of the driver navigate to C:\Window\System32\Drivers\ and look for stpd.sys and manually delete it.
My PC just crashed again, but with no BSOD, just a hang+freeze up. Looking over the driver update I did to the Xbox 360 controller it seems it wasn't really an update. As far as I can tell the current driver for this is what I already had previously installed; the driver dated 8/13/09 is the newest release I can find searching on my own and/or using the provided link. Also looking at the reference table for xusb21.sys in the above provided link all I saw was that there are issues with Windows 7 and this particular driver. Not that there is a newer driver, only that it does not seem compatible. So unless I am misunderstanding something, it appears to me that I cannot use an xbox controller on Windows 7 with any game whatsoever and expect my PC to be stable. In hindsight I had no issues with my PC crashing at all till playing games using this corded Xbox 360 controller.
Yes, that is still the same driver from 2009. What is the difference between the driver for xusb21.sys from Microsoft and the one from this link I found? XUSB21.sys free download - Sysfiles-download.com - My PC won't recognize the controller or what driver it is using till I plug it in. Following the link from Microsoft they don't tell you anywhere what the drivers release date is or what version the driver is unless you download it. After downloading it and using 7 zip to open it using a cab extension to view whats inside their nifty self extracting doodad you can see that the "update" for windows 7 64 bit is 4 years old
When you plug the controller into the USB port windows doesn't automatically install drivers for it ?
