    yes it is entirely possible, old drivers often don't show signs of problems until they have run for a long time, it could be that a recent windows update conflicted with the old drivers, or possibly an update to other programs you used (flash, java, web browser, etc.)

    yes just be sure that you keep your driers up to date.
