    Dear Paul!

Attention! You have purchased download version. You will not receive any CD/DVD media!
However the process of burning CD/DVD for the purchased software is very simple and will take less time than shipping of physical media.

We recieved your order and you can download the software immediately by loggin into Customer Area.
Use your email and password (from previous mail) or order information below to access download page:

Order Id: xxxxxxx (this may be used as login instead e-mail)
    Password: xxxx

Access your order and customer support Store Home

You will need to download software purchased from our download area only!
If you have another version of software installed before, you need to remove it and consider to use downloaded version.
Other versions (e.g. retail) will not work properly!
Check out installation instruction also available in customer area.
If you wish to print invoice, it is also available in custom area at the line above.

Please, do not respond this message. This mail box is not monitored.
Feel free to use Help Desk located in customer area to contact us.

    Best Regards,
    Support Team

I would have waited for a response longer than 2 hours. The best advice is to buy Win7 only from major retailers or MS. However this does not mean it is non-Genuine.

Call MS Customer Service to ask them if the Product Key is Genuine. Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft

File a complaint if it is not. This can help you later get a free copy if you lose your money and cooperate with their investigation..

If not Genuine contact the seller for a refund and your bank to stop the payment.

    Hey, Gregrocker !

Maybe I should have waited, yes ... but I (thought) that I had the afternoon free today to install and had to work tomorrow. But right after I decided to pay and download, I got called to work. So I couldn't install it today. Tomorrow doesn't look good either... Maybe Sunday or Monday... I'll keep you informed and sure will check the genuinity of the product that I bought. Meanwhile I still hope to recover my old system so I don't loose even more time installing other soft.
I was able to copy the contents of the old disk with Paragon. I quickly tried their repair options, but it didn't work
As soon I have the time, I'll follow the rest of the repairs, mentionned here on the forum and let you know what happens.

My security system (Avast + ZoneAlarm) did not warn me when I visted and browsed their website. Only when I wanted to download the second file (ms.win.7.fix.exe) Avast refused to download. I decided to download it anyway. As long I don't run the file, nothing can happen, right? After download I scanned it with Avast, and it said it was a safe file...
I'll keep you informed... (also see my previous post to Gregrocker)

I've contacted their support team about Avast's warning :

    05/24/2013 10:30 from you
I purchased Win7 pro and downloaded the iso file
when I tried to download the ms.win.7.fix.exe (6.57 MB), AVAST blocked the download... what now ?

    05/24/2013 18:45 from support team

    Dear Paul,

Please click on Start orb, then right click on Computer icon and select Properties command from context menu. Scroll content down and look at Windows activation section. Windows is activated or not?

    My reply :
Thanks for your reply, but I didn't have the chance yet to install the OS. So I don't know if Windows is activated or not. Most likely I will install the OS tomorrow or day after.
I just was supprised that AVAST blocked the download (suspicious website).
Nevertheless I disabled AVAST and then I could download the file. I scanned it and Avast told me that there was no problem with the file.
But in the mean time I want to know why I need this program ? what does it do ? when and how and why do I have to use/run it ?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

About 30 mins after I replied I got their answer :

    05/24/2013 23:09 from support team
    Dear Paul,

OEM activator (ms.win.7.fix.exe) makes low level system changes so it is considered some antiviruses as suspicious software. Moreover most antiviruses hates to download .exe files from the internet. But don't worry. When we investigating your situation, we discovered, that OEM activator is integrated in Windows setup program and activation must be performed during first logon to system. We have corrected instructions and list of downloadable files.

We'lll see what happens when I install tomorrow...

This sounds suspiciously like a crack this retailer bundled with the download they sold you, unless you bought an OEM version which needs an extra file to prepare a PC for resale. But since I've never heard of it I'll ask our Activation experts.
