    BSOD randomly occuring STOP: 0x0000007f

My computer keeps blue screening since I bought it pretty much.

It came without an OS so I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and the drivers for components myself.

It usually works fine, plays games with very high settings with no issue. When I'm casually using it, or just leaving it on in the background playing music is occasionally blue screens.

It sometimes blue screens while it's shutting down too. Always the same STOP error

Thank you for any help you can offer :)

    Hi Nexensis.

    Is this a new computer?

    Security App
    • Start Menu\Programs\Ad-Aware Antivirus
    • Start Menu\Programs\AVG

You shouldn't use two antiviruses on your system. Please remove Adaware and AVG and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials to see if it provides more stability. Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software. Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes are recommended from a strict BSOD perspective. They do not cause blue screens on the system as other AV products do.

Microsoft Security Essentials, Free antivirus for windows and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free

       Information
    • Do not start the free trial of MalwareBytes, unselect that option when prompted.

    • Update and make full scans with both separately.

    Start up

Keep less stuff at the start-up. Only anti-virus, this helps avoid driver conflicts and improves time to log in to windows.

Yes this is a fairly new PC, it's been doing it since I've had it.

I've uninstalled AVG and Ad-Aware and installed the ones you've recommended.

I've also done the System File Checker with no errors found.

I'll be doing the diskcheck next startup and I'll do the memory test when I get a USB stick or a CD over the next week, thanks for your help

So far so good, no bluescreens since I uninstalled AVG and Ad-Aware, the diskcheck came back with no errors and I've done 13 passes of Memtest86+ with no errors.

It seems to be looking good :)
