    But you can stop in step 8!!

    At last, choose "Yes, apply the changes physically" and then restart your computer after operations are done. Do remember, you cannot interrupt the process or undo the changes.


    Just don't apply the changes. In that case it did tell you what device has a driver missing

    Win7 Ultimate, fresh install over Vista OEM, she has no clue where the key is. That is the only reason I didn't just save her files and re-install.

    I got to that screen, but never saw anywhere to see what drivers were missing.

    What did you see in step 6? Just a bunch of inf names in the dialog?

    Step six was barley a blink of an eye, flash then step 8's dialog box.

    Download this ProduKey - Recover lost product key (CD-Key) of Windows/MS-Office/SQL Server
    The zip file. Extract the zip and put the files on root folder of usb stick.
    Attach usb stick to sick system. Boot to recovery environment. Determine drive letter of usb disk

    Code:
    dir D:\
    dir E:\
    et cetera
    Now you know the drive letter assume R
    Code:
    R:\produkey  /external
    Works? Don't post the product key!! Is it showing win7 product key?
