BSOD While Shutting Down, error 0x0000009F

    Hello,

Recently when I've been fully shutting down my laptop (Alienware m17x R3) I have been getting a BSOD with the tagline DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.

Attached is the minidump file. If there is anything else that needs to be uploaded or any problems please just let me know.

    Thanks! :)

    Hello pthurlow0125.

The single BSOD dump you uploaded is not showing a stop 0x9F, but a stop 0xD1, caused by Bigfoot Networks Bandwidth Control Wireless NDIS Light Weight Filter driver.
    Code:

Uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Let us know the results. If it continue to crash, post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I didn't realize that it was a different BSOD that occurred. My mistake.

I will definitely try updating the drivers for the Killer network.

My main concern is the money that went into Kapersky; is there anyway I can fix the BSOD listed in this mini dump without uninstalling Kapersky anti-virus?

EDIT: Here is a link I found claiming to be a fix for the Kapersky 2013 BSOD: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=242951

Would there be anything wrong with the solution which the link is suggesting?

Sorry, I dont know any other way to fix the issues caused by Kaspersky other than uninstalling it

About the money, its just a trade off now. Either utilize the money by sacrificing some issues, or forget the money and try to have a crash free system.

Your bad luck. Kaspersky does not fail everywhere.

Well, I tested something different from removing Kapersky, and decided to start by taking a look at the Bigfoot Networks -- Their site offered fixes for BSODs which were caused by their application, and so far *knock on wood* I have yet to experience one after applying the fix. If I run into another one though, I shall post the new minidump for analysis.

    Many thanks Arc! :)

It is blaming Bigfoot Networks Bandwidth Control Wireless NDIS Light Weight Filter driver.

Okay, so I attempted to uninstall Bigfoot Killer Networks (The website said it had to be done to update the driver) but I got the following BSOD. Some things that may be important:

-I was browsing the internet at the time
-I did not attempt to install the newest version, but I did, however, have the driver update saved to my desktop as opposed to a separate drive

Any suggestions on how to uninstall without getting a BSOD?

There is nothing but a desktop.ini file in the 22 bytes zip you uploaded. Try it again.
