USB_BUGCODE_DRIVER error 0x000000fe. SF Diagnostic Tool files included
Hi everyone,
I have been having a random BSOD with this USB_BUGCODE_DRIVER error for about a month now and I've looked around on the internet and this forum trying to solve it on my own but I still can't figure it out. It all originated from when I used a usb cable to connect my phone to my laptop and it kept dropping the connection and reconnecting. I have since tossed that cable. Another possible culprit, recently I noticed that if I move my laptop screen sometimes my webcam becomes disconnected, but then immediately reconnects. Very odd; I am thinking about trying to disable or uninstall anything related to the webcam and seeing if that fixes the issue.
I can't do a system restore because unfortunately I don't have any from before the BSOD's.
Here is what I have tried so far:
Gone into Device Manager and manually uninstalled all USB controllers listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
Used USBDeview to remove all old USB drivers
Ran a disk check and system file checker
The only thing I haven't tried so far is a complete wipe and re-install of the OS
I am attaching all .dmp files in a .zip file.
My worry is that it is a hardware issue which would be expensive to fix since my warranty ended a few months ago. I would greatly appreciate some advice/help.
EDIT: Also, my computer came with SP1 installed, so I don't think it is related to the binary files not being updated
EDIT2: Could someone explain to me how my laptop's battery life will be affected by turning off USB selective suspend, if necessary? Per this post BSOD frequently. ERROR: BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER, error 0x000000fe
EDIT3: Just read the forum instructions, here are all of the files provided by the SF_Diagnostic_Tool, minus the dmp files already provided
