New Build BSOD 0x00000124
Hello I just put together a new desktop that I bought.
Intel Haswell i7 4770k
EVGA GTX 770
Asus Z87 - PRO motherboard
2x4 GB Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9
I have gotten the 0x00000124 error twice the day i built the computer, and i used BlueScreenViewer to see what was happening and it said the culprit was ky.sys. I installed all windows updates and the problem came back a couple hours later. There was another bluescreen with the code of 0x000007e and it said hal.dll was the problem. I ran sfc /scannow in cmd and it said files were corrupted and couldnt be fixed. So I reinstalled windows, after that I reinstalled my game (Rift) and kept playing and got the bluescreen (0x00000124) about 6 hours later. I realized I hadn't installed windows updates on this fresh install either. I am waiting for the updates to install but I have a feeling it will crash again anyways.
Sorry for not posting a dump file but my computer didn't save one on the last bluescreen. When it happens again I will update this post with the dump file.
From just this information is there anyway you can assume some of the hardware i bought is faulty? I built the computer last Thursday 7/11/13.
I do not think overheating is an issue at all. My Tower has 5 fans in it, my GPU has two built onto it and of course my cpu is using the one that came in the box. I ran some heat monitoring programs 5 hours into heavy graphics gaming and my cpu cores never went above 50c and my gpu never went above 70c.
EDIT: I just checked to see if my specific ram dimm was in the Qualified Vendors List and the specific RAM i have isnt listed. Is it possible that this RAM is not compatible with the mobo and is causing the hardware failure?
