I've reinstalled windows from scratch now, so far i've only downloaded latest chipset driver, realtek audio, network driver, nvidia 306.23.Is it best to install all the updates(have 112) or install sp 1 first if possible?

Also i found out yesterday that my ram isn't on the motherboard memory list from the website, i have this ram Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel kit (PV316G160C0K) [PV316G160C0K] which is very new i think but didn't find the model number on the asus site for my motherboard.(i guess each bios update adds more? i have the latest too)

Got a new bsod on fresh install of windows...probably a driver missing but attached file.

    Hi,

I would install SP1 first, then other updates.

Well spotted on the RAM, I maybes should have picked up on that earlier.
Your motherboard supports the following memory according to Asus:

    Memory:

    4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 3000(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2600(O.C.)/2500(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
    Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
    * Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
    * Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).

You have DDR3 PC3-12800 @ 1600Mhz installed, looks as if it is not supported by
your motherboard as far as I can see, which may explain the memory corruption your
logs were reporting, and why we ran memtest, which passed , but maybe the Ram
timings you mentioned were off because of this.

    Code:

Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
    BugCheck 34, {50853, fffff88005f0b488, fffff88005f0ace0, fffff80002eab939}
    Probably caused by : memory_corruption
I would do some more research, refer to your motherboard manual to be 100% on compatibility.

But looks like you maybe going shopping for RAM.

    Keep us posted.

    Cheers

    Dave

I am not sure what to do, i had a faulty board to begin with which i am returning tomorrow but since it seems the ram isn't compatible should i just return that too and go with Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) [CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10] ?

I am pretty sure the Corsair ram is fine isn't it? a friend has same board and that ram has had zero issues.

    Hi,

Sorry not following, do you mean shall you return the replacement motherboard and Corsair RAM?

Corsair is really good RAM, but you need to match the CPU and RAM to the motherboard and ensure
that all are compatible with each other and supported.

Your PCI device must have developed be since you reinstalled as it wasn't showing in your original logs!

If you go in device manager, click on the PCI simple communications controller, go in property and then go in details. You will see a code like this: PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...
The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in my case the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Post that up and I will see if I can locate a driver for you.

    cheers

I had a Z87 MSI GD65 board before this which was faulty, just have had horrendous badluck when upgrading to Haswell.

Should i reinstall latest chipset drivers that will pick up the pci simple communications thing? (can't see any code, went into device manager, right click properties of the device and checked all 4 tabs for it)

Also whilst using the 306.23 drivers in new titles surely there will be crashes? i will test though but since they are old i think Hitman/BL2/Metro LL will not like them.Seems very strange that 306.23 has no sli option at all.

I have not installed drivers for my Logitech G400 yet as i heard they can cause issues.

Just got 2 bsods in 10mins ....enabled DV now.

    Hi,

Okay that PCI refers to Intel Management Engine interface, found here under Chipset:

    Attachment 277637

I will post back in a while with the latest log analysis

    Again possible memory issues!

The device driver showing as faulting is:

(Also check Asus site at the link I provided above, under Audio)

If this is the latest driver try rolling back to previous version.

    cheers

Yeah it's gone now thanks, i am wondering if i should just wait for my new ram before handling stuff more or should i try Borderlands 2 again tonight see if it crashes? my memory is set to 10-10-10-27 2T in bios too by the way at 1.50v which it recommends so have no idea why i get memory related bsods.
