    Laptop crashes instead of sleeping

My ASUS Laptop has gotten a bit finicky about sleeping when allotted time expires.

I noticed a Driver Power State Failure on the last crash.

I've reset sleep, display off times and disabled and uninstalled items that could be causing.

Updated wireless network driver, but still crashing.

Uninstall your current antivirus as it is contributing to your BSOD's. Replace with Microsoft Security Essentials & the Free version of Malwarebytes, update and make full scans separately:
    • Do not start the trial version of MalwareBytes

You may also take a look at:

    Reduce items at start up:
Your Antivirus software is basically whats just needed there.

Use the System File Checker tool and Run Disk Check:

Uninstall these software with Revo Free:
    Code:
    Start Menu\Programs\Advanced SystemCare 6	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Advanced SystemCare 6	Public
    Start Menu\Programs\Auslogics	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Auslogics	Public
    Start Menu\Programs\Auslogics\Disk Defrag	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Auslogics\Disk Defrag	Public
       Note
Download and install Revo Uninstaller free from here:
Opt for "Advanced Mode" and uninstall the software (also delete the leftover registry entries).

Thank you for your help in pointing me in the right direction.

I used Kaspersky Removal Tool to uninstall the update to the AV Software that came with my laptop when purchased. I had other problems with the 2013 version when updating my subscription. When I removed it, the sleep function returned without BSOD issues.

I also did the SFC in normal and safe mode, but it seems there is something still there that it can't fix or restore. The system seems to working fine, however, and I installed AVG Free which I use on my Dell Desktop without problems, and it's something I'm used to.

I updated my wireless network driver just to be on the safe side and will probably reinstall iTunes that I removed when trying to solve this earlier.

I already had Malwarebytes on my laptop, which I would heartily recommend.

    Thanks again.
