    Help My computer got the Blue Screen of Death, error 0x000000C4

    I had this blue screen before. As well as my computer freezing. I tried everything to stop it freezing but nothing worked. so I reinstalled windows 7 but didn't format the hard drive. This was nearly 2 weeks ago. After reinstalling it it worked fine. until a couple of days ago I reinstalled the new ram and earlier today I got the blue screen. It was the same blue screen as I got before reinstalling windows. It says DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION. It was caused by the driver ntoskrnl.exe. I don't know much about this driver or anything so I don't know what to do about it. Any help is appreciated. thanks.

    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION means you have Driver Verifier enabled.

    Driver should not be enabled without the suggestion of a debugger. It makes the system laggy, crash prone on purpose. Disable it, by following the Option two of the tutorial Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable .

    Now, it is to see if it is causing any more BSODs there or not.

    And BTW, as you are having BSODs, you should post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

    So you're saying disable it and see if it blue screens again?

    Yes, definitely.

    And, at the same time, let us see what DV detected? Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

    DV is good for nothing here.
    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    Disable it without any hesitation. Use the computer normally. If it BSODs again, post it for us, with the latest zip file.

    Is driver verifier on by default because I never turned it on myself. And is there nothing I can do until it BSODs again? I thought Driver Verifier was good by helping your system and stopping drivers corrupting windows.

    But thanks a lot for the help. Really appreciate it.

    Don't know if you can help me or not, but I reinstalled the old ram and that fixed the BSOD problems. but about 5 minutes ago my PC randomly restarted. and there is nothing on the event viewer that looks suspicious besides things that mention an unexpected shutdown.
