Random BSOD error STOP 0124 (i think)

hey everyone, im kinda new here and ive been reading the forums for awhile but im still having problems with my laptop, so i decided to create an account and post further info to get more help from you guys.

so i bought a 2 yr old asus laptop from my friend who wasnt using it anymore. he told me he had some bsod problems with it, so he decided to sell it to me for a relatively cheap price.

the laptop would just randomly give that bsod. sometimes it would happen twice or thrice a day, sometimes it wouldnt show for days, its just very random and its bugging me when im trying to do stuff cause i have to frequently save to prevent it form being lost. i also realised that my laptop gets kinda hot when playing games or watching vids on youtube, but i dont really know whether this could be the cause for the blue screen.

so i decided to reformat it, reset to factory settings, update all the drivers, run memtest86 for 3 passes, do an antivirus scan( Avast and Windows Security Essentials), but the bsod would still keep on randomly appearing.

previously my friend sent it to the asus branch in my country for repair while it was still under warranty, but all they did was reset it back to factory settings and that was it lol. i havent sent this laptop to any repair shop yet, cause im kinda low on budget, and im trying to figure if i could resolve this issue on my own.

i've attached a .rar file of the things compiled by the SF_Diagnostic program thingey here, and i would greatly appreciate any help from you guys!

Sorry no-one has been able to reply to your post, thread bumping will lead people to believe that your getting help, since the number of posts will be increasing, as if you were getting support from another member.

Download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
    • Double click to open it.
    • Click this button only:
    • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Daemon Tools uses a driver called sptd.sys, which is known to cause BSODs with Windows 7. It is recommend you remove this program, and use Windows own in-built features or ImgBurn.

sorry for multiple bumping there! anws, ive uninstalled all of the above, and also downloaded the temperature thing. heres a screenshot of my temps while at idle

    Attachment 279043

i couldnt get a screenshot of the temps of my laptop while its running games or watching vids, cause the moment it got really hot, (last i saw was around 80 plus degrees on the cpu and video card), it just restarted, without the blue screen. so far ive been using it only for a day and i havent had any random bsods yet, but only that specific occurence of it restarting when the laptop got really hot from playing skyrim and watching vids on youtube lol.

I think you may have a overheating issue, have you attempted to clean inside the case of the laptop or purchase a can of compressed air and spray it through the vents?

Do you have a cooling pad?

im currently using a laptop fan which has one big fan in the middle, but i dont really feel the fan has much of an effect lol. oh and i havent tried opening it on my own, i tried seeing a vid of how to open it up tho, seems too complicated for me. so is this a confirmed case of overheating? cause im thinking of just sending it to a repair shop and asking them to clean it up for me, would it be expensive?

I'm not sure how much it would cost, you would have to ask, but I wouldn't say it would be expensive.

It does seem to be overheating, especially with the laptop shutting down after 80*C+.
