EventVwr - 1,188 Events Since 5/2/2013! Should I Just Start Over?

My computer freezes every hour, to the minute, so checked Event Viewer. It is a sea of errors and warnings, nearly 1200 in the last 3 months. I know enough to be dangerous, but can all these problems be caused by one or a couple of things, or am in water so deep, I should just try reinstalling Windows? The freezing started 4 days ago and a system restore did nothing.

I wonder if the reported Crucial M4 SSD firmware problem for drives exceeding 5100 hours of use locking up every hour is a cause. Little scared of a firmware update...might screw this up.

I would suggest to do the firmware update. I did on my 3 with no problems. Just as a precaution, back up your personal data first and you could do a system image just in case. That's just playing it safe. I did mine with no loss of data. But, it will also eliminate the SSD freezing problem as the cause of your issues.
