    By configuration I meant, what is connected to the motherboard i.e. HDD/RAM etc;

    I have a couple of questions and "assignments" if I may.

    Is the problem consistent, meaning you can predict when or if it will happen?
    If you can't, try these three scenarios.

    1. Make the PC sleep with the battery installed and connected to the power-brick.
    2. Make the PC sleep with the battery only.
    3. Make the PC sleep powered by the power-brick only.

    How did the PC behave?
