BSOD happens in a seemingly random manner.

    Hi guys,

I just got a new laptop and am getting these BSODs since day one. Hoping you guys come out with a solution.

    Thanks in advance,

Hi Nikhil. The issue is with graphics driver. According to my friend Bongo (Jerry), there is multiple GPU configuration as per Nvidia Optimus Technology. Let us make it simple. Let us try using the native performance of windows and Nvidia, which always works hassles free and stable.

Is it a factory installed OS, or you installed it? I would suggest you for a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 . Do exactly what is stated there.

About the graphics driver, download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

Let us know how it is running.

    Hi,

I downloaded the driver but it gives me this error " The driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.". I did not read my graphics card name in the supported units list anyway buy went ahead as you had directed me to do so.

Also, the windows was installed by the re-seller from whom i bought the laptop and not by me. So what should I try next??

Ok, I just downloaded the latest driver from nvidia which does support my card (780m). The driver still didn't install and I got the same error " The driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.". I wonder if this is related?

Nikhal bhai, thread bumping is against the forum rules. People have their works to do ...
    2) No useless posts, e.g., thread bumping, useless one liners, junk posting to increase post count, and identical multi-postings in different forums.

And about your issue, yours a brand new laptop with hardware malfunction. Simply ask the vendor for a replacement.

Hi, Sorry for the bump. I wasn't aware of the rules. But the bump did not mean I thought you guys don't have work.

I am still not sure whether you think it's the graphic driver or whether it's the hardware.

Also, I got it from abroad so asking for a replacement is simply not feasible. Thanks for the wonderful piece of advice though. Ill mark it as solved.

Nikhil, if multiple versions of a device driver cannot be installed with the same error that a compatible GPU is not found, then it is some problem from the part of the GPU either, or in its configuration.

Replacement is not feasible ... may be, but do you have the COA sticker I guess ... continuing the license?
