BSOD intermittent and more than once a day.
I recently got my PC back from the shop after having some hard disk issues and I had to replace the hard disk with a new one. It was running fine for about a month and when my internet came back I started using Steam again. I play Dota 2 a lot and it never had any issues prior to the repair. Mid game I got the BSOD so I decided it might be steam causing the issue so I uninstalled and reinstalled. After that, it was fine. I installed Tropico 4 and tried playing it. I usually open iTunes while playing and it seems to happen during those times so I stopped using iTunes. It happens on specific games like Tropico and Dota 2 or if I use 2 programs at once. Like I said, it has been an issue only very recently and just right now I was playing a flash game on Google Chrome and it crashed. I need help as it has happened quite a few times now but never more than 2 times a day. As per instructions from the forum I zipped the file for you. I forgot to take down the error but I'm hoping the zipfile will prove useful. Thank you! :)
EDIT:
got some additional info from whocrashed:
crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: hal.sys (hal+0xEFCD)
Bugcheck code: 0x124 (0x0, 0xFFFFFFFF85D77024, 0xFFFFFFFFB2000040, 0x800)
Error: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that a fatal hardware error has occurred. This bug check uses the error data that is provided by the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA).
This is likely to be caused by a hardware problem problem. This problem might be caused by a thermal issue.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: hal.sys .
Google query: hal.sys WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR
again thank you for any help you guys might be able to provide.
